The Eco-Friendly Difference: Clean Today. Protect Tomorrow.
A clean house shouldn't cost you a brown lawn, a sick garden or thousands of gallons of water. What "eco-friendly exterior cleaning" actually means when it's real.
"Eco-friendly" gets stamped on a lot of things. In exterior cleaning, the claim is testable: what's in the tank, where does the runoff go, how much water does the job take, and what's still on your property when the crew leaves? Here's how we answer those questions — and what the conventional answers cost a yard.
What's in the tank matters most
The industry's workhorse chemical is sodium hypochlorite — bleach. It's cheap and it produces fast visual results, which is why so many companies rely on it. It's also an aggressive chemical: it can degrade surfaces, corrode metal, and its runoff harms plants, damages nearby structures, and poses risks to workers and the environment.
We made the opposite bet. We prioritize the health of our surroundings — people, pets, plants, and your property — which is why we NEVER use hazardous chemicals. Our eco-friendly solutions eliminate the need for harmful bleach, corrosives, or pesticides. Our primary cleaning agent, Protecta-Clean, is a gentle solution, free of bleach or harsh chemicals, and is safer for people, pets, plants, the planet and your property.
Where the runoff goes
Everything sprayed on a house comes down — into flowerbeds, across the lawn, toward whatever grows at the drip line. With a bleach wash, that's a chemical dose delivered directly to your landscaping, which is why bleach crews shield beds with tarps and hope for the best. With our process there's no bleach to shield against: the application is non-toxic and biodegradable, and we take every precaution possible to minimize any impact on surrounding vegetation. Our spray-and-walk-away method means no harmful runoff into the environment.
The water math
Pressure washing is thirsty — it's the delivery mechanism for the entire clean, so the gallons pile up fast. Because our solution does the work instead of the water, our advanced techniques result in remarkably reduced water usage: up to 90% less. On a commercial scale the difference gets dramatic — a 70,000-square-foot roof takes us about 350 gallons with a two-person team in roughly two hours, where pressure washing the same roof runs a full week, multiple personnel, and nearly 17,000 gallons.
Safe around the living things you actually care about
The question every pet owner asks: "is this safe for my dog?" Yes — our product is non-toxic and eco-friendly. We recommend keeping pets inside during the work and for a few hours afterward; once the solution has dried (a minimum of about 3 hours), it's safe to walk on. The same gentleness applies to gardens, lawns and the people who use them — our application is similar to that of a gentle rain, not a chemical event your household needs to evacuate.
Powered by weather, not by force
The most eco-friendly ingredient in our process is one nobody bottles: the weather. After application, rain, humidity and snow energize the active ingredients, continuously breaking down stains and buildup; wind and rain then wash away the dead matter. Nature does the rinsing — which is exactly why the process needs so little water and no repeat blasting. Results build over 2 to 4 weeks, with full results in up to 120 days, and the treatment leaves a protective barrier that keeps surfaces clean for up to a year.
Lasting solutions are the greenest ones
There's a sustainability angle people miss: frequency. A clean that regrows in weeks means another truck roll, another round of chemicals, another few thousand gallons — several times a season. A clean that lasts a year, maintained by a single annual application in our Northern climate, minimizes the impact of repeated treatments. For the savvy property owner, this translates into reduced costs and optimized resource utilization — the rare case where the green choice and the cheap-over-time choice are the same choice.
The eco checklist, side by side
When you're comparing providers, five questions separate a genuinely eco-friendly process from a green-painted one. Here's how we answer them next to traditional pressure washing, soft washing and brushing services:
- Biodegradable solution? Us: yes. Traditional services: no.
- Powered by Mother Nature? Us: yes — the weather activates and rinses the treatment. Traditional: no.
- Excessive water usage? Us: no. Traditional: yes.
- Soil and water contamination concerns? Us: no. Traditional: yes.
- Gutter runoff risks? Us: no. Traditional: yes.
Matched to your climate, not to a schedule that sells more visits
An honest eco claim has to include cadence: how often does the treatment actually need repeating? The answer depends on climate, not on a sales calendar. In cooler, less humid climates like Wisconsin, one application per year keeps the protective barrier ahead of regrowth; in hot, humid southern climates — Florida, for instance — it takes two. In our Northern season that work happens April through November, when temperatures are above 40 degrees and the weather can activate the treatment. One well-timed visit a year is the whole maintenance program — and every visit that doesn't need to happen is water, fuel and chemistry that never gets used.
